Redefining heritage with a brand refresh for a beloved British perfume house.

Penhaligon’s is one of the few British perfume houses in the world today. Throughout its 135-year history Penhaligon’s has stood for luxury, prestige and elegance. Their perfumes are iconic pieces of design that defined an era.

MONOGRAM was commissioned to update and refresh the logotype in order to modernise and broaden the brand’s appeal in the competitive world of perfumery.

band identity refresh

MONOGRAM lovingly re-crafted the wordmark, adopting a more contemporary case structure and conceived the new simplified supporting line ‘EST. LONDON 1870’. Reconsidering the rules around usage and placement of the two royal warrants was also essential in order for the new visual identity to be applied with ease across a number of new boutiques around the world— each with varying styles of interior and exterior design, from traditional to contemporary.

BRAND ROLL-OUT

The new wordmark rolled out across packaging and storefronts around the world—old and new—from London to New York, in addition to concessions in all major UK department stores and airports.
